Roped Into New Talents
A rope is an interesting object, the vast majority of people cannot say that a physical piece of rope has had an influential role in their life. If someone is connecting rope or ropes to their life they are most likely referring to their relationships with people and how they represent those relationships. However, when I say a piece of rope has had an influence on my life, I mean a physical ten-foot-long blue rope has impacted me in a great way.
I used to be a Boy Scout of America until I reached the highest rank which is Eagle Scout. In boy scouts, among many other things, you tie many knots. It’s not just a stereotype, it’s the truth, scouts spend hours and hours tying various different knots. Knowing how tie knots are supposed to be only a very small part of the program, however, our scoutmaster made it one of the largest. My scoutmaster was infatuated with knots and making sure every single one of us knew how to tie them and how to tie them under 10 seconds. He issued all of us a 10-foot piece of blue rope that was solely used to practice our knots. It wasn’t till years after I left the program that I realized how important it was to learn these knots.
The hours of knot tying we all did took a great amount of time and discipline, however, once we got the knot down, we would never forget it. It’s made me realize how I can do anything I put my mind to as long as I put in hard work and dedication. There have been so many random talents I found I have and after putting in hours of work, you don’t forget them or how to do said thing. I stopped taking piano lessons a few years ago but I can still play the hardest song my teacher gave me. I still know how to do yo-yo tricks I taught myself how to do years ago. My friend who I hadn’t seen in years tried to do our secret handshake I spend hours learning I could do it perfectly. Without that piece of rope that taught me how to teach myself little talents, I wouldn’t be able to do so many things I can do today.

Same Old Same Old
I’ve noticed the classes I excel in are the ones that teach content in a repetitive format. In my opinion, the first few weeks of school are more focused on learning the way the class learns rather than the content. Take this class for example, over the first few weeks of school I’m getting used to how things are done. We have bell work, blogs on Wednesday, current events, and E.T.C. After I’ve learned how the class learns, I can focus on learning the content.
The classes I struggle in are the ones that aren’t consistent with the way of learning. If the way we do homework or tests is always changing, my mind is focused on that rather than the actual content of the class. I’ve had classes where I’ve spent weeks throughout the year just learning and relearning things that should have been gone over in the first week of school.
It’s quite a coincidence that this was a topic as I was just thinking about this today. In my 1st period class I TA for the office. Today I had to stuff envelopes with papers to be sent home to parents. It was very simple, grab the paper, stick it in the envelope, peel off the seal tab and close. I was very slow at first because i didn’t know how to open the envelope the right way to make it fit, but I as kept doing them I was getting faster and faster. It really goes to show once you’ve got a system down and know what you’re doing, everything goes by quicker.

Sock pile sadness
Socks have been quite an interesting thing in my life. I grew up with 5 other siblings at home with me and now I am the only one at home. As I’ve grown and my siblings have left for college, I’ve noticed the way socks in my house have also changed.
When I was much younger, socks around the house became scarce. I’ll be honest it was entirely my fault. I was horrible about going outside to play with my friends just wearing socks and they’d get completely destroyed. My dad had enough of my sibling complaining about who stole who’s socks(It was secretly me all along), and decided to buy over 100 pairs of black low-cut fila socks. They filled an entire basket in the laundry room and they just lived there. They were the communal socks and anyone could wear them. My older siblings told their friends we had sock communism.
As my siblings started moving out one by one, they all stole some of the black socks as they left. Seeing the monster pile of socks slowly disappear as my siblings moved out was actually pretty sad, it in a way represented those people in my life leaving. My sister Lydia took the last few pairs off to college with her and that was that. No more black socks, and no more siblings at home. I wasn’t sad about the socks, I stopped wearing low-cut socks a few years ago because my ankles are so bony and need covering. It was just said seeing that big stack of socks, just like my big family, move out and start their own lives.

Mac Madness
My favorite musical artist is Mac miller. He is a hip-hop/rap artist that has 21 albums. He died 4 years ago today at the age of 26. Although I wasn’t listening to his music when he passed, the past two anniversaries of his death have made me sad as I wish he were around making more new music as he had such a talent for it. He is my favorite as I love the tone, lyrics, and beat of his songs. There is never a time when I put on music and thought to myself, I’m not really in a Mac Miller mood right now. If I’m feeling confident and happy, I’ll jam out to some of his songs, if I’m in my feelings, ill lay on my bed staring at the ceiling at night listening to and connecting with every lyric of his songs. Everyone should listen to his music as he has various different song genres and meanings behind his songs. Songs like Nikes on my Feet and The Question, are very upbeat and get your going while songs like blue worlds and circles are much more chill and easy-going. Everyone that I’ve put on listing to Mac Miller has loved his music ever since. His beats and lyrics flow so well together as his personality is portrayed lyrically and melodically. If I had the opportunity to meet mac, I would ask him about his inspiration to write certain songs and some of their deeper meanings. Whenever I’m stressed, need to refocus, or upset, Mac’s music calms me and regroups me.

McQueen's Messages
My favorite Pixar character is Lightning McQueen. I love this character because he’s entertaining but also gives a good message to his audience. The humor is easily understandable by young children making it a good family movie. There are also many NASCAR mentions in the movie making it more appealing to dads wanting to watch a movie with their kids. It teaches kids and adults to not take things so fast and to slow down and enjoy the moment. It also teaches us to not be caught up in ourselves too much. We see this when McQueen finds himself in radiator springs and no one knows that he is a famous racecar driver. The audience learns fame isn’t everything when lighting is told to give tickets to his best friends for his big race. He then realizes that on his way to the top he lost all of his friends and how no one to spend time with. Being homeschooled I didn’t have many friends as I only went to a school-type environment once a week and the kids were very quiet. Being little I always wanted a friendship with someone like lightning and Mator had. The cars 2 movie was horrible so I’m not gonna talk about that. I watched Cars 3 when I was older just because I remembered how much I liked watching the first one when I was younger. This movie builds more character development with McQueen as he’s getting older. He realizes that he’s no longer the fastest and that there are more important things than being the best. Lighting Mcqueen is my favorite character because of all the messages he sent to me in his movies.

September 28
My favorite driving distance place to go during the day is tahoe. I’ve grown up going skiing in Tahoe all the time. In winter we’d go for day trips and we spend every spring break there. I love skiing, it’s fast and gives you an adrenaline rush, but yet it is soothing and relaxing. I love zooming down the mountains as fast as I can, but I also like taking it slow and making wide turns. Listening to music is one of my favorite things to do. I like any activity that allows me to really feel the music but while doing something entertaining. I find it hard to listen to music while I’m just sitting in a chair or lying on my bed. When I’m skiing I can fade everything else out and just listen and enjoy the music and its message. Another thing I love about skiing is that you really have time to look at your life from an outside perspective. Now that I’m able to drive I spend countless hours on long drives and skiing in the mountains by myself. I have so much time to listen to music and think, it's almost as if I'm spreading my life out on the ground and reorganizing it. Thinking about life is always better when your surrounded by beautiful scenery and the slopes are the best place for this. Especially at resorts in tahoe as you can see the big beautiful lake in the background. Seeing huge mountains look small from the distance makes you think about perspective which then makes me think about my perspective on life. Many times it almost feels like i'm doing a checklist of my life, what have I done and what do I still need to do before I die. Skiing is the only sport I can do by myself at my own will for 6-7 hours at a time.

Hair
In my family, hair is kinda crazy. My dad is balding but still has the same amount of hair as my mom. Both have brown hair, my dad’s is straight, my mom’s is curly. My oldest sister falls in line with this by having wavy brown hair. My sister Abby has strawberry blonde, borderline red hair. It doesn’t make any sense as none of my parents or grandparents have red hair or are strawberry blonde. My sister Ellie’s hair is very blonde, it's natural but doesn’t look like it to the point where people joke around by saying her roots are coming in. Hair makes my siblings unique in my family and it makes everyone unique. Hair is something I notice quite often. It’s usually a way I remember people. Many people say oh you have the same hair as every other guy in your grade. I have never seen someone and thought that they have the exact same hair as me, or that two people have the same hair. Hair can also say quite a bit about a person. Take Spencer Redula for example, his hair is combed and very neat, just like his lifestyle and grades. My hair… can quite often reflect my grades. I’ve heard people complain about their hair and then tell me what they want it to look like or whose hair they are trying to have it look like. They will never be happy with their hair as it’s impossible to achieve the same hair as someone else. Many times in life we find ourselves not happy as we are trying to be someone else. In reality we may come close, but we will never be that person. We have to be happy with our hair and happy with our life as it is.

Shirt Circulation Seeing how much of a global impact the clothing industry has on the world has made me realize how important it is to try and to limit the amount of clothes we consume throughout our lifetime. Tee shirts, one of the seemingly simplest types of clothing to make, still go through a long unnecessarily complicated process to get the shirt to the consumer. Fashion trends are killing our environment by telling society that they need to change what clothes they have on a very frequent basis. Fashion trends are also going in and out more quickly than ever before. It will only be a matter of weeks before there's a newer more trendy clothing item to wear. Everytime we follow society's norms and buy into trendy clothing we are taking steps further toward climate change. We expand and expand our wardrobe until we are forced to let go of many clothes to make room for new ones. Another big problem is what we are doing with those clothes. I’ve seen many people throw away their clothes once they are done wearing them. If the clothes are still in good condition, selling it, or donating it to a homeless shelter or thrift store is a great way to keep it in circulation. However if clothes are no longer wearable its still a good Idea to use them in any way possible. For example I accidentally got a hole in one of my tee shirts. Instead of throwing it away or donating it I turned the shirt into a cut off to workout in. You could also use it as a cleaning rag or take several old tee shirts and make a shirt quilt. 282 words |

Playlists
I have many different playlists for different occasions or crowds of people I'm with. I've made them all myself and they are all about 20 hours long. The one playlist I find I enjoy the most of it is my nightly driving. It's a bunch of songs that make me feel crazy unreal when I'm by myself at night driving. It's a very interesting feeling and all the songs have a feeling of similarity. Almost as if I knew the song before it came out. I'm sure some of the songs are just samples but many of them have just made a good impact on my long term memory system. The songs don’t even particularly have a genre. It usually is the songs that are very different from an artist's usual type of work but work really well with their voice. I’ve shared it with a few of my friends but they've all found it strange. Me and my friends share tastes in music but this particular playlist is almost specific to me. It’s specific to me and my surroundings. When I’m in a loud and busy place i'm not gonna get that feeling and it won’t feel right. However, being a long straight dark road at night, I will most definitely feel this feeling. Most of the artists on the playlists are ones I listen too regularly, however there are occasional extra people I don’t ever listen to. Usually in these cases it’s artists that are “one hit wonders”

Hypocrites
I believe hypocrites are a big problem in everyone's life. When I meet people and they seem like a nice or dependable person, then they go and do otherwise, it’s a great disappointment. It's very sad to see the people you thought highly of do things to make you disappointed in them. It’s a primary reason for my trust issues. Even some of my most trustworthy friends who I can always count on will say one thing then do the other. I can’t be too mad at them about if it’s done on rare occasions, no one is perfect. I’ll be asking my more organized and trustworthy friends to do something, they say they will, but I still will always have the slight fear in my mind that this will be the time they slip up. Something I thought about was that hypocrisy isn’t always bad. It really just means saying one thing, then doing the other. In my math class, we are assigned 2 new table partners to form groups of three. I’ve had a partner say they aren’t the best at math but their action did not support their claim. This person carried our team and it was a huge relief to all of us that thought we’d have to carry him. This ties over to being humble. Everyone has been or will be a hypocrite at some point in their life. We should strive to make it where we exceed others' expectations of us rather than fall short.

Baby Blankets
It's always astonished me how much we grow. We start just as a couple of cells and over the years grow several feet tall. Our cells divide and grow to help us grow or heal at such rapid rates. I’ve only felt this process during very rapid growth spurts of mine. I would get moderate growing pains. For the longest time I had stretch marks on my back from growing towards the end of middle school. How do we not feel our skin being stretched? You would think growing several inches over the course of a few months would be felt. I'm so surprised it’s not excruciating pain. We don’t appreciate what our bodies are capable of. It really hit me how much I’d grown when I found my baby blanket in my closet. The last time I had used it was when I was about 6 or seven and it lived on my bed as a spare blanket. At the time it would cover around 70% of my body. It just left my feet, head, and shoulders exposed. My mom must have put it away in my closet so it wouldn’t get ruined as I hadn’t remembered what happened to it. I was 15 when I found it in my closet and I was around 6,2 or 6,3. I held it up to my body to see it barely even covered my torso. Baby blankets are one of the only things we remember using when we were younger that we still have. The same effect would happen with our old clothes but most people don’t still have clothes from when they were 6. We should take out our baby blankets more to see and appreciate how much we’ve grown.

Survivor, a 2000’s reality TV show, documented participants as they completed challenges and survived on the island. The point of the show is to use your survival instinct to survive off the island as well as compete in challenges against the other team. The winner would recieve a million dollars, this brought competitiveness into the show. Being in a survival instinct environment made players more competitive in challenges, demonstrating how competitive the show was. The environment brought out players' physical and intellectual abilities to the max. It shows a mix of two things, competitiveness increases when money is at stake, and competitiveness increases when we are in a survival instinct state. This is reflected by the variety of players. Players consisted of either people that believed they could survive in the wilderness, or people that could win their way to the money.

Making friends
It depends on the situations in one's life but usually I believe guys have an easier time making and keeping friends. All of my siblings have gone through Ripon high, 4 sisters and one brother. 3 out of the 4 of my sisters had a hard time finding friends while it hasn’t been too difficult for me and my brother. I find that guys are more open and inclusive to other guys while girls on the other hand tend to have more closed off circles. This is only the case for high school though as early adulthood seems to be a quite different experience. With all of my siblings now being adults, I can see the differences in making friends. For all of my sisters it has been very easy for them to meet new people in college or work and become friends with them. However the roles switched on both sides as Dallas hasn’t made many friends outside of his wifes friends and family. For the keeping friends side of things I think most cases guys keep friends much more than girls do. Some of my friends that are girls have beef with other girls because of something really stupid from a very long time ago. I know several cases where my guy friends really stabbed each other in the back and made up in less then a month. Another factor in why I believe girls don’t keep friends as easily is them saying very poor things about each other. When I hangout with my friends that are girls, it always surprises me just how much crap they can talk about other people.

Are we prepared?
Our country provides children and teens with free education. This education is important as we want our future generations to help society progress rather than regress. Once we graduate high school we should be ready for the real world. But is this really the case? Are the subjects we are required to learn really beneficial to our lives after highschool. Although I firmly believe our schools lack to teach some very essential skills to our lives, it does a pretty good job at giving us the tools we need to succeed. I've heard from so many peers in my math classes, “When are we ever going to use this in the real world?” My teachers would usually respond by saying math is everywhere and we always need it. However this isn’t the case. We will most likely not use and forget many of the equations and skills we learn. However that isn’t the point in math. Math is a very valuable subject as it helps us become problem solvers, not just with numbers. This is a great example of why some classes are required for all students to learn. If I had to make a change to the system, it would be what classes are required and what are electives. I feel there are some skills that are more valuable than what we are required to learn. Although science is interesting and could help us in college, learning how to pay taxes, change a tire, and other basic adulting tasks will be more useful as we need them more often in the real world There are tasks we will need to figure out how to do on our own, our public school system gives us the tools to help us succeed and learn things on our own.

Best Meal Ever
When food is good, it's really good. That doesn’t make much sense but to me it does. The past few years I’ve been struggling a lot with my stomach and digestive issues. Throwing up all the time, my relationship with food, specifically my appetite, took quite a toll. Eating anything became such a chore as I never seemed to have an appetite for anything. Food became such a blah nothing was ever exciting. However I took a step out of the real world a few summers ago and went on a 50 mile, week long, backpacking trip. The only food we had was mountain house meals. You haven’t tried meh tasting food until you’ve had to live off those for a week. I hadn’t had sugar, real meat, or anything yummy in a long time. Once we finally made it back to the car, we stopped for in and out on the way home. The dirtiest group of boys stormed in demanding burgers, fries, and milkshakes. My appetite had made a comeback for this experience. No burger has ever tasted so heavenly made, no fries so crispy and good, no soda so sweet and flavorful. That root beer tasted like the elixir of life. I was so hungry but yet it was just too good to eat too fast. I just had to thoroughly enjoy every bite. My exact order was a double double, animal fry, neapolitan milkshake, and root beer. My connection to food had returned, it was the first time in a while eating felt like a pleasure rather than chore. That was the best meal I had ever had.

We want what we can’t have
This episode of bluey resonates with me greatly. It has many means in which all relate to my life growing up. It is very well known among my friends that I have very strict parents. There are some rules that I have that my friends and even their parents can’t believe. For example, it is a rule that I am not allowed to spend the night for pretty much any reason. All of my friends are allowed to and can’t believe I'm not. I’d bring up to my parents the point that they let me drive to work in blizzards with snowy and icy roads but not spend the night at my friends house. Just like there were some words bluey and bingo could say that their friend couldn’t. The main point of this episode in my opinion is that we want what we can’t have. Bluey and Bingo might have said dunny on rare occasions if the mom hadn’t brought up not saying it. However once she did, that's all they wanted to say. It reminds me that we shouldn’t focus on what we don’t have. If we’ve lived our whole life perfectly fine without saying anything, why do we need it now? Another point this episode reminds me of is representation. The mom didn’t want the kids to say dunny not necessarily because it's a bad word, but rather that she wants their family to be seen as nice and respectable. There are many things that aren’t necessarily bad, but should be avoided as they can make people think more negatively of us.

Clara Barton
Clara Barton was a very influential and brave woman. She would be a very brave and progressive person by today's standards. Being born in the late 1800’s really goes to show how bold and courageous she was. She fought in her time to get women's rights and find the remains of fallen military soldiers. She fought very bravely whether people were behind her back supporting her or not. She can really teach today's generation a lot about standing up for what you believe in. In our day in age, we have many progressive movements that will change society for the better, they just need people to back them. It seems many people today just like to stick with the crowd and do what is normal or cool. Being the bold person like Barton was will greatly help our society move forward. This influence you have when you're one of the first people to back a movement is far more influential than joining once it gains popularity. We saw this especially with the BLM movement in 2020. It’s not that the people joining in were doing it for the wrong reasons but joining at the peak of its popularity where it's almost a trend doesn’t show as much courage and support compared to being a trailblazer. Clara is a perfect example of the trailblazing type of person as she supported movements that were ahead of her time. Anyone can be a Clara Barton by standing up for what you believe is right regardless of what others think. If we do, in time others will think the same.

College fairness
High school is filled with D1 college seeking students. Student athletes in high school practice and train in high school to be the best. They want to be the best in hopes of playing in college. College is very expensive so more importantly they train to get a scholarship. It isn’t just free money but if a player is the cream of the crop they could potentially get all of their college paid for. I was honestly very surprised to find out that college athletes are getting paid as it seems to defeat the whole purpose of a scholarship. Scholarships are getting money that can be used to pay for tuition or room and board. It's getting money with a good purpose. The top students showing exceptional work and performance should simply just get a boost players scholarship. College athletes are still at a young age and receiving large sums of money might not be the best option for young adults. Having financial freedom at the age where you are just old enough to buy alcohol and weed can have serious negative effects that will end up hurting their playing abilities. The reason many college athletes lose their scholarships and don’t continue to succeed in their sport is due to their personal choices that they know have due to their new independence. The freedom that would come from getting paid for sports can also affect how they perform in school. Going out too much with all that money can make their academic performance go down greatly. If they do poorly in school they will either be expelled or ineligible to play their sport. If colleges were to just boost their scholarships they would have greater academic opportunities, allowing them to do well in school and keep playing their sport.

Will things ever be perfect?
Sometimes I feel that we will never be perfect. Perfection is such an interesting topic to me, it seems obtainable, yet no one has seen to obtain it (not counting religious figures). We are always told we will never be perfect however, why is this? My life has always felt like a puzzle, if the puzzle is complete that means life is perfect. As we grow up, it seems as if we only need a few more pieces or need to repair a few to be perfect. Even if I have never felt close to being perfect, that concept doesn’t feel as far as it really is. Everyone at some point has thought if a few certain things in their life were different their life would be perfect. However as humans, the brain is never fully satisfied, we always crave more, something greater. If my 8 year old self saw the good parts of my life right now, life would be perfect to my little self. While there are great benefits to growing up, I wasn't ready for the hard challenges I’d have to face. As pieces to the puzzle are added, there will always be some leaving as well. A loved one might leave us, a good quality of us might diminish but yet we don’t see it till much later in life. What I think we fail to realize is that a perfect life is one cluttered with mistakes, regret, and sorrow. With no negative there is no positive. Life is supposed to have ups and downs, if they are present, that is they way things should be and we really are living the perfect life, even if we don’t see it.

Permanent
The word ink peaked my interest as it resembles certain choices in our lives. If we are writing anything down on paper we either write it in pen or pencil. The pen. Smoother and easier to write with however, everything is permanent, there is no going back. There are some choices we can erase just like we can with a pencil, and some choices we make that are as permanent as ink. If we could have handled a situation a bit better or been kinder to someone, this is a bad quality that we can change and do better about. However some of our choices have no undo button. There are no startovers. At school we can easily fix problems we got wrong on homework or class work, but on the test, what we submit is final. We need to think about the choices we make in our lives and if it's something we can forget about and move past or fix, or something that can affect us for the rest of our lives. There are bad choices I’ve made that I just forget about or don’t affect me as they are in the past and I’ve fixed them. There are also the choices I’ve made that have had a lasting effect on me, whether that's for the better or worse. These permanent choices we make aren’t always negative things. We often look at the phrase “you can never go back” as something so negative and something to not be around. However there are so many choices and steps and life that are irreversible but we wouldn’t want to be reversible. It can always go both ways, good or bad. You can be 17 and have a kid… a permanent step and life that you can’t undo and you weren’t ready for. It does happen to be an amazing step in life for those mature enough and ready to take on the responsibility.

I find that our phone cases say a lot about who we are and can represent how different people live their lives. It’s usually very hard for people to switch lifestyles similar to that of switching their phone case. I’ve bothered my friend Devin and Josh both for years about using their super old, crusty beat up, broken cases. Devins case virtually turned into a rubber band and joshes was a clear case turned to brown from oxidation. I think the type of a person's phone case says a lot about their lifestyle. Most people I know opt for a traditional case that is somewhat stylish and not too bulky. They still care about their phones safety but don’t wanna be held back by the thick otter box cases. Those I know with massive rubber cases that could survive a drop from a skyscraper tend to live a bit more like their case. Yes they are staying safe but are held back by my worries, similar to that of worries of your phone breaking or your screen cracking. Just how people for some reason never change their old phone case, nor do they with their lifestyle. I used to be an otterbox kid, I went on google and found the most protective phone case… and bought it for my ipad as I was too young to have a phone. As I transitioned out of being a shy socially awkward homeschooler my lifestyle changed as well as my phone case. I really doubted myself as I got a relatively thin phone case but I knew I wasn’t as worried about it anymore and who wants a brick bulging out of their pocket?

Daylight Gravings
I understand why daylight savings is a thing. It is nicer to have longer days in the summer and longer nights in winter, however it might just be the death of me come spring time. I, along with all the other members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or “Mormons”, have a little thing called seminary in the morning. Before school Monday through Thursday I wake up at the lovely time of 5:30 AM for our magical Mormon school, how fun! The time was switched from 6 to 630 this year but I now actually have to wake up even earlier as once I finish at 7:30 I don’t have enough time to get ready for school and eat breakfast. I usually spend 2 or three hours on extracurricular and the rest chilling and doing homework. This means I have to be in bed by 9:30 in order to get enough sleep. Where I’m going with this is that mornings are tough for me. Then this last week we got smacked in the face with something called daylight savings. Now that 5:30 wake up feels like a 4:30 wake up. No highschooler should wake up at 4:30 in the morning for school. The nights I have to stay up late to do a lot of home work or study are unbearable the next day.I know this is just a special rare case for my church but it makes my life quite miserable getting used to the time change and sometimes I wish it just wasn’t a thing.

So much of our communication these days is through social media. This prompt has made me realize that around 60% of the communication in my relationships was through social media. It is way easier to text someone then it is to actually talk to them one on one. I always think before texting someone, is this something I’d say to them in real life. If it is then ill send it, if not then vice versa. Its much more difficult to get your point across over text as you don’t have facial expression, hand gestures, or even pronunciation and enunciation. Taking these factors into account we have to carefully alter what we say in order for it to sound like us or get it across the way we want them to understand it. If you don’t act in person like you do on social media I personally think you are a catfish. I genuinely get frustrated when someone will text me nonstop or snap at me all the time but when we are in person just awkwardly stare at me and not say a word. Social media is slowly making the world more socially awkward. A couple of decades ago guys would just simply go up to a girl and ask them if they’d like to go out on a date. Now that would just be weird as none of that is done through face to face interaction. On the path we are on right now, I can see high schools having a social interaction class so students know how to have manners and not be awkward in person. We’ve lost touch with how to be a nice social person to the point where we will see our friends that we text walk down the street but not even say hi as we are too awkward and shy too.

Past or Future
If given the choice I’d much rather be able to change my past. My future is just going to be a byproduct of the decisions I am making and already have made. Being able to go back in time and reverse my regrets and mistakes would be a much better person. I could pretty much become perfect which would set me up quite nicely for the future. Being able to wipe all those mistakes away just has endless benefits. I would no longer have beef with anyone. People not liking me is inevitable but still always bothers me quite a bit. Usually I actually understand why someone doesn’t like me but it still frustrates me. There are a lot of small mistakes or dumb things I did when I was younger that in hindsight don’t matter and no one will remember. But I still do and they still bother me a lot. Being able to get rid of all of those mistakes and others would make me feel like such a clean person. Having the feeling of flawlessness or never making a mistake just seems so nice and desirable. The only thing keeping us from very successful futures is our mistakes we made in the past. Even if we do make mistakes but have a fortunate future, it’s harder to enjoy it if your past is filled with regrets and mistakes. I think of the things that I would feel so bad about when I was younger compared to the mistakes I make now. In my opinion a clean past is the best way to a good future.
